AOE Email and Account Security

This article helps you protect your AOE and AOEU accounts from phishing attacks and unauthorized access. If you recently received a suspicious email appearing to come from an AOE address, or if you clicked a link you now regret, start here. 

Phishing emails are designed to steal personal information such as passwords, financial details, or account credentials. If you have already clicked a link in the message or any other email you suspect of phishing, we strongly encourage you to take the following steps immediately:

AOEU Students

Your students.theartofeducation.edu email address is managed by Google. To update your password, follow these steps:

  • Open your AOEU student email account. You might need to sign in with your existing password.
  • At the top right, click your profile. Select "Manage your Google Account."
  • From the options on the left, select "Google Password." You may be prompted to sign in again.
  • Enter your new password, then select Change Password.
  • Check the "Security & Sign In" section to see what devices your account is currently logged in to, and sign out of any you don't recognize.
  • Log in by going to this page: https://app.theartofeducation.edu/user/login.

    • Simply click "Log In with Google" and select your AOEU email address from the "Choose an account" list.

Users with Google-based Emails

  • Follow the same steps as above but with your relevant personal and/or school district-provided email address.

Users with non-Google Emails (Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, etc.)

  • First, update your email password through your email provider.
  • Next, to reset your Art of Education account password, 

    visit this page: https://app.theartofeducation.edu/user/login.

    • Enter your email on the login page and click "Forgot your password? Reset it now." Then follow the steps delivered to your district inbox to set your account password. (Be sure to check your junk/spam folders for this email.)

    • Note: This option will not work if the primary email address on your AOE account is Google-based. If you do not receive an email to reset your password, try using the Log in with Google button on the login page.
    • If you are still unable to update your AOE account password, reach out to us at help@theartofeducation.edu 

Other helpful tips:

  • Change passwords for any other accounts where you use the same credentials
  • Use unique passwords for each of your accounts.
  • Contact your bank or financial institution if you entered any payment information
  • Run a security scan on your device if prompted to download anything
  • Use Two-Factor/Two-Step Authentication. Learn more about how to use this feature with your Google accounts here.
  • Consider using a password manager.
