New Landing Pages in PRO and FLEX

FEATURE

FLEX Curriculum and PRO Learning landing pages make it easy for teachers to quickly find what they need. The landing page search experience allows teachers to search all of the content within the product from one place. For teachers who aren’t sure how to get started, or who want to grow their knowledge of PRO and FLEX, key implementation items are highlighted.

PRO and FLEX Type-Ahead Search

FEATURE

Teachers may not know exactly what they’re trying to find or the perfect keyword to search. The new landing page search experience provides recommended terms and content as the teacher begins to type in the search bar. Hit enter to continue viewing content related to the typed search term, or make a selection by clicking on a recommended item in the produced list.

FLEX Consolidated Seach and Duration Filter

FEATURE

As teachers complete a search from the FLEX landing page, they move to the results page, which shows them content from all of FLEX that matches their search. By using the filters on the left navigation bar, they can narrow their results. The addition of a duration filter helps teachers discover lesson plans that fit their schedules.

Improved Visual Arts Standards Search Experience

FEATURE

Teachers can now enter state visual arts standards codes into the search box and see content that is aligned to that standards code. When searching for standards with filters, receive additional prompts if your filter combination provides zero results.

Updated Teacher's Edition of FLEX Curriculum

FEATURE

We've segmented our Teacher's Edition into seven chapters to help teachers identify their teaching style and learn how FLEX Curriculum can support their approach to teaching. Each chapter highlights key topics like differentiation and instructional strategies. Displayed by chapter on the implementation page, this detailed resource makes it easy for teachers to identify teaching styles, address specific needs, and discover content in FLEX that can help.

Explore the appendices for sample supply lists, rubric development, and a fillable scope and sequence.

FLEX Curriculum: Scaffolded Media Process Skills Resources and Assessments

FEATURE

More than 100 NEW student-facing resources have been added to FLEX Curriculum. These resources pair text with illustrations, making them perfect for early readers and English language learners.

Discover scaffolding media-based skills resources and assessments for drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and digital media. Illustrated resources and assessments related to visual arts skills development help teachers assess students’ strengths in key areas, encourage student growth in skill building, and collect student data. Corresponding videos and planning resources can be found in PRO Learning via PRO Extended modules.

PRO Learning: PRO Extended–Scaffolded Media Process Skills

FEATURE

PRO Extended content helps teachers plan, instruct, and assess student needs and learning. PRO Extended includes three related FLEX resources to help teachers implement their learning right away. Additional corresponding resources and assessments are in FLEX Curriculum.

Scaffolding media-based skills lists and explanatory videos are available in these  PRO Packs:

  • Rethinking Your Drawing Curriculum
  • Watercolor Painting Basics

PRO Learning Playlist: Create or Grow Your Art Program

FEATURE

Whether you are starting a  new art program or working to grow an established one,  this playlist features eight PRO Packs that give teachers and teacher leaders the knowledge they need to help their art program excel. For additional support and resources, the playlist highlights connections to FLEX Curriculum and AOEU graduate courses. Playlists are located on the Implementation page of PRO Learning.

FLEX Curriculum Video: "What is Landscape?"

FEATURE

Teaching landscape in art helps students understand composition, connect with nature, and explore new techniques. We’ve created a new animated video that introduces students to landscapes in art.  The “What Is Landscape?” video completes a series with “What Is Portraiture?” and “What Is Still Life?”.
