# How to Change a Primary Email Address Within an AOE Account
## Step-by-step instructions to change the primary email address tied to your AOE account
**AOE users have two options to log into their accounts.**
*Option 1*: Log in with your PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS and password combination.
*Option 2*: Log in with a Google- or Clever- or ClassLink-managed email address.
***\*AOEU students should choose "Continue with Google" and enter their AOEU student email address and email password when prompted. ***
1. Log in to your account at [https://app.theartofeducation.edu/user/login](https://app.theartofeducation.edu/user/login).
2. Click on your initials in the top right, then choose Profile.
3. Scroll down to “Change Primary Email,” and click **Set as Primary Email** underneath your Alternate Email Address that you want to make your Primary.
1. If you don't have an alternate email address already set, you will need to add one and verify it before changing it to your primary email address.
\*We recommend that if you use a non-Google-based email address, you set that as your Primary email. Google-based email addresses can be set as alternates and are still able to be logged in with by clicking "Log in with Google."
